LR will not participate in the Lecornu 2 government but promises “text-by-text support”

For "Les Républicains" (LR), it's a no. The party's political bureau met this Saturday morning to decide its position on the next government of Sébastien Lecornu . The result? The right-wing party affirms "text-by-text support for the government" but specifies that at this stage "the confidence and conditions are not met for Les Républicains to participate in the government." A position adopted by a "large majority" according to the press release issued by the party led by Bruno Retailleau, the resigning Minister of the Interior. The party, however, specifies that it wants to "provide France with a budget," placing itself in the category of "responsible" against the "architects of chaos."
As the office left, Valérie Pécresse, president of the Île-de-France region, was the first to speak. "We want a budget, we want order at the borders and in the streets, that's why we got involved. But support doesn't mean participating unconditionally," she explained. Especially since, according to her, the Prime Minister could decide to suspend the pension reform. This would be seen by the right as an "immensely serious" choice. "Participating in a government that did so would be a disavowal of ourselves," continued Valérie Pécresse. Questioned on this subject this Saturday morning, following his visit to the L'Haÿ-les-Roses police station in Val-de-Marne, Sébastien Lecornu simply added: "All debates are possible, within a realistic framework."
